Criminal Record Checks,

Criminal record checks are provided through use of your name and date of birth or by submission your fingerprints. If a certified record check is required or if the name and date of birth inquiry matches an individual in the CPIC system submission of fingerprints to the national database becomes mandatory.

Criminal record checks, also referred to as police clearances, criminal background checks, criminal checks, police checks, police certificates or CPIC checks, are processed through the Canadian Police Information Center (CPIC) database. Results can be provided as early as the same day. Applications must be completed in person at our location across Canada.
Why get a criminal record check?

A criminal record check can be for a Canada visa, employment, immigration, vulnerable sector. A check that discloses the facts makes it significant to getting a criminal record check.

Criminal checks will let you know everything relevant and show the specific characteristics to reveal whether the person is convicted of crimes or not. 

Where do I get a criminal record check?

Criminal record check services are provided by-

1. Police agencies

In availing police services searches of both national police databases as well as their own local records come into their reference for criminal record checks. The police agency taking up the fingerprint services sends your fingerprints to the RCMP's Canadian Criminal Real Time Identification Services (CCRTIS) for searches of the National Repository of Criminal Records.

2. Companies that perform name-based checks

Companies that perform name-based checks enter into agreements with municipal police services to conduct checks of the RCMP's CPIC system. These companies may not share all of their information related to police databases.

3. Accredited fingerprinting companies

Accredited fingerprints companies do not include information from other databases in their record checks. These companies are authorized to submit fingerprints to the RCMP's Canadian Criminal Real Time Identification Services (CCRTIS) but not to conduct vulnerable sector checks.
